About David Gove
Photography is as personal as any other art form, I particulalry like capturing action and behaviour, rather than reference shots, additionally wildlife in the landscape i.e not just portraits that show off the technology or pixel power.
None of the shots are "photoshopped" beyond cropping, contrast adjustment or exposure adjustment. If branches or foliage were in the way they remain. All of the backgrounds are original and no composite shots unless identified . None of the wildlife is capitive, restrained or chilled to get a shot. The animals welfare was considered at all times even if it meant failing to get the shot.
Camera Equipment I use:
Bodies: Nikon D2X , D300 , D70 ,FE & FM,
Lenses: Nikkor 500mm AFS F4, 1.4 and 1.7 converter
Sigma 300-800
Sigma 300 2.8 100-300 F4
plus a host of macro lenses, wide angles etc
As you can see, I have both Nikon and Sigma lenses and you cannot tell the difference in results in most cases. As for the bodies;- Nikons are built like tanks and backward compatability means the lenses I bought as a teenager in the late 70's can still be used on my new gear, that's worth remembering it's the glass that counts! Along with a huge tripod, I use gitzo carbon fibre and a wimberley gimbal type head.
